I am a 40 something year old mother of 2. I have always been interested in crafts since my sister and I spent summer weeks with my Grandmother, who was a very crafty lady, while my mother was in college. I mostly quilt since I seem to have an obsession with owning large quantities of fabric, but at one point or another think I have tried almost every craft out there.

it's ready!

The pattern for my needle case is finally finished! It has instructions for a scrappy binder cover with pockets and a variety of pages to hold all your different kinds and sizes of needles. This is my first attempt at selling a pattern so bear with me while I get everything worked out. I have had a PayPal account for years, but I have never used it to sell, only buy. I am planning to distribute by emailing a pdf file so if you are interested leave a comment here making sure I can get back to you.

Edited to add: I have a lot of comments from people wanting my pattern, but their blog profile is set to no-reply so I can't get back to you. Please email me in person at dyerta@hotmail.com.

look what i did!

My dad has been safely moved into assisted living. He seems to like it. It has somewhat reduced my stress without having to worry about my aunt and him being too much for her. There was no way he could go home by himself so this seemed to best solution.
DD is currently in Madrid. She had a great time in Dresden, Germany. She is under strict instructions to be in touch with us at least once a day. So far she's doing pretty well. I have lots of lovely pictures of buildings in both Germany and Spain. Here is the lady she is staying with in Madrid. She found a hosting situation on a website. She has been emailing back and forth in Spanish since she signed up and is very proud of herself and how she is making use of her High School Spanish. She loves paella and was excited when she got home after a day of sight seeing and this was dinner. I also have a great picture of her holding it, but she wouldn't let me post it. She claims I always choose the worst pictures of her to post, but I like pictures that are more candid and she only likes posed ones.
Now that some things are a little more settled I actually got some time to sew yesterday. We are in month 4 of Jo's club and I finally got the top for the first project together. If you want to feel totally inadequate you should join my Jo's club. The second meeting we had one person who had made 3 complete quilts in different coloration's from this pattern. I am just happy to have the top to mine finished. I can't wait to add it to my mini quilt wall.
