where has july gone?
Is anyone still with me? I know this has been a long, long absence. The longest since I started blogging. Things are still hectic and I have been woefully neglecting my blog as well as blog reading. The last time I checked I had almost 1000 unread posts. Shame on me.
NOTHING crafty to report at all. I haven't managed to finish one project this month so far. I am probably not going to complete my OPAM challenge with a perfect record. This is as close to getting anything done as I have gotten. Carrying my knitting back and forth to work every day just in case I find a spare minute or two. So far nada.
The main topic of conversation here in Maine is the weather. It rained 29 out of the 30 days in June. It was really showing in everyone's mood. July has been slightly better, but we are still getting rain at least a couple of days a week. DH made some comment about right after he buys a new motorcycle we can't ride. :-\ We have worked in a couple of day trips. Last Sunday we managed to go to the White Mountains in New Hampshire. It was a beautiful day for a ride and the Kancamagus Highway was crowded with motorcycles. Here's DH sporting his 45 mph hair do.

We are leaving for New Jersey tomorrow for probably 4 days. DH is executor of his mother's will so we need to take care of everything involved with that. Not a particularly enjoyable trip considering the circumstances, but we are going to try and find time to visit a cute little teddy bear shop we found a couple of years ago. The last time I went I got this great feather tree complete with fence. It is a lot more decorated now. I keep it up year round decorated with bears and primitive ornaments. I should also be able to get some handwork done in the car. I have a two at a time pair of socks on my needles and I have the last 4 wool applique stars to finish for a rug I started before we moved.
I am going to try and do better with my blogs, both posting and reading. I feel so out of touch.

It is okay. Blog reading and crafting are both things you do for fun - so you can do them when you want to and when you think they will be fun.
My family up in New England has been moaning about he weather all summer...I'm going up next week and feel like I am packing for everything!
