pincushion

What do you think? Does this assortment look like fall leaves? I'm going to do Judy's October hour a day quilt. Because of the move I didn't get time to do the last one. Maybe I'll start early. :o)
I am a 40 something year old mother of 2. I have always been interested in crafts since my sister and I spent summer weeks with my Grandmother, who was a very crafty lady, while my mother was in college. I mostly quilt since I seem to have an obsession with owning large quantities of fabric, but at one point or another think I have tried almost every craft out there.

Those look great for Judy's challenge! I wish I could join in. Hopefully the challenges will continue and eventually I'll be able to!
That assortment looks very much like fall leaves. I won't be doing this one but I'll be watching everyone else's progress with interest. :-)
And of everyone's pincushions I think I like your's in the cupholder best! What a neat idea.
That cupholder/pincushion is very clever; and yes, the fabrics are quite fall like.
I saw the other day a "cup holder" that was a tissue box - for your car - very clever. Your "pin cushion" made me remember that - also very clever and useful!
Beautiful fabrics for Judy's challenge!
Cheers!
Evelyn
i really like your pin cushion/trashbag - that would be very handy at retreat!!
love the fabrics also - they are very fall-ish.
Beautiful colors for the challenge. Since you asked - I'd mix in a few medium sized designs and a couple linear things like plaids or stripes for a more varied mix. Right now most of your prints look pretty similar to each other. But the colors are wonderful!
Love the pin cushion and scrap basket. Sure wish my dog didn't like to bite and eat anything that is hanging down from my sewing table!
Those fabrics should make a beautiful quilt. The scrap catcher looks like a handy thing to have by the sewing machine.
I love how creative all these scrap holders and pincushions are.
It looks like you just took a color study class and they asked you to arrange the swatches all around in a ring! Lovely.
I have the same cupholder thing that you do, and I've been using a plastic bag and complaining that I hate the look of the plastic bag hanging there. I never even thought to make a pretty fabric sack to hang on it. Now I am going to have to copy you. Thanks for the inspiration!
yes those fabrics will look great for the October fall quilt. Look forward to seeing your blocks.
I'm with Tracey!! I use the same thing and I never thought to make a permanent bag which would help alot since Pixel loves to chew anything plastic!! Mine has teeth marks from Pixel chewing on the corners. I use the same bag and slide out the trash. I don't put anything in the cup holder, but I could. I like the idea of the pins but the cats would eat them there.
I think the leaves will look fabulous!! The colors are great!!
Very original your pincushion:)))
BEAUTIFUL Fall leaves!!! And I love your "pincushion" :)
Your pincushion and waste bag is great. Clever idea to line it with vinyl to make it slidy.
The autumn colours look fantastic!
Ohhhhh, what a nice selection of colors for autumn leaves! What color are you going to use for the background and the dark squares?
What a delicious fabric selection -- your quilt is sure to be stunning *s*
those fabrics look luscious! Great pincushion as well!
That cupholder is great! I am forever putting my water glass next to my machine and then bumping it! Never actually had it tip all the way over but it does keep my heart racing from time to time!
