I am a 40 something year old mother of 2. I have always been interested in crafts since my sister and I spent summer weeks with my Grandmother, who was a very crafty lady, while my mother was in college. I mostly quilt since I seem to have an obsession with owning large quantities of fabric, but at one point or another think I have tried almost every craft out there.

i really wanna know...who are you? who? who? who? who?

Mary posted earlier this week about her blog stats and wanted to know who was visiting her. I knew that, of course, she would have many more visits that I did, because, face it, she posts a lot more often than I do and has a lot more inspiring quilting in her posts. Absolutely no one wants to read; got up, drove to work, sat at my desk typing, drove home, ate dinner, sat like a lump, played with my kitties and went to bed. (think maybe I'm in a rut?)
Anyway, her post prompted me to put a sitemeter on my blog to see if anyone was still reading my ramblings. I was surprised to see I got about 70 hits the first day, but I'm afraid a lot of them aren't for real. :c( Does anyone know how to read these stats? I checked the details and I find a bunch of hits of 0:00 seconds. This can't be someone stopping by. Feed readers must be checking up on me to see if I have anything new or something automated like that. Anyway, it was fun to see that there are actual visitors reading as some hits were 15 minutes or so. I hope you are all enjoying my posts as much as I enjoy reading yours. Please, if you have a couple of minutes, leave a comment and let me know who you are. Someone from Spain visited and I'm sure I have never gotten a comment from Spain.

Hi. I'm from Wisconsin and I follow the Stash Quilt ring. I'm new to blogging and was thinking about starting a counter, too, but think I will wait until I have a few more posts built up.

I think the 0 seconds are the ones who type in your address and don't see anything new and hit the big X in the right top corner. But how can the sitemeter tell if they looked for 0 or 200 seconds if they don't click another link or type in another address... I mean, there's no "movement" to indicate that the visitor is still there, so it assumes it's gone.

I was amazed when I put up a sitemeter, at how many visits I got compared to the number of comments. Of course I lurk a lot too. There just itn't time to comment on every blog I read. I am from Manitoba just 2 miles north of North Dakota.

I am here from Canada. I too am guilty of sometimes lurking. I don't leave commetns at every blog I read everyday--because of time constraints. I check on a large number of blogs each day and do not always have a change to leave a comment. Also, sometimes -- it seems more often than not lately -- I am unable to leave a comment because Blogger is acting up! Keep posting and we will keep reading! VBG

Hey Tami, I'm in Pennsylvania now - use to live in Massachusetts. I have you on a feed so I know when you post something new and come in to check it out.
Oh, the post you had about being green prompted me to go and get my cloth napkins out of the bin they were still packed in. I even went and got a square 'paper napkin' basket and they fit nicely in there! I don't always post a comment but I do check in on ya :)

Hi - I'm lurking and reading in Austin, TX. I use Google Reader to monitor over a 100 blogs and only stop by when something new is posted - and that's not with everyone - can't always keep up with everyone. Some people want to blog too much about their trip to the grocery store. I don't care that someone doesn't post every day - quality vs quantity. And kitty posts are always nice. Love the kitties - I have 4.

I've followed your blog for a long time now and still enjoy popping in to read at least once a week. I think that I've read somewhere that if a person visits your blog but doesn't move the cursor to a previous page (post) then the meter registers 0:00. Once they go to a previous post, then it registers the movement.
